Objective:The osteoarthritis is a chronic, progressive joint diserse. Its pathological feature is denaturation and destruction of joint, ossification appeared below the cartilage, Reactive hyperplasia of bone also occurred both the verge of joint and below the cartilage, then osteophyte formed. The cardinal symptom of OA is pain of the sick joint, that aggravated when acting and relieved when resting. during later period the joint became swell and stiff, at the same time, its activity is limited. This disease belong to the "rheumatism" category of Chinese medicine, its incidence of disease is rising now in China. Pain and mutilation that OA induce arc acutely effect patients' daily life. Not only family but also society it spell heavy economic burden to, for this reason, it is necessary to seek effective treatment. Our experiment establish OA animal mode by causing high pressure in bone, and the therapy is the three united remedy that combined by the fumigate of Chinese materia medica, the terminal stimulus and the massage. We compare it with the Votalin treating that have been proved effective on clinic during the experiment, and detect intraosseous pressure in the upper part of tibia and the content of nitrogen monoxidum in articular cartilages, synovial membranes, synovias of knee joint, we can initially identify the mechanism of action that this theropy treat on gonarthritis, supply the theoretical and experimental evidence for making general use of it on clinic.Methods:56 Japan rabbits of 4—10 months were used in this study. They were divided randomly into 7 groups, 8 rabbits each group, the normal group (A) , the model group(B), the three united remedy treating group(C), the fumigating group (D), the functional training group(E) , the massaging group (F),the Votalin treating group(G). OA animal model was builded by means of causing high pressure in bone, which was established by ligated and cut down the right femoral vein below the middle of rabbit' s groin 10 millimeters.
