While elaborating the ascending and descending of Qi (vital energy) movement, probe into a series of matters such as the influence by the change of style of study to the four great doctors in Jin and Yuan dynasties, the relations between the personal background and the era, etc..Search with the aid of SSREADER for documents and literatures in digital library databank of nationwide periodicals -CNKI, using Qi movement, ascending and descending, four great doctors in Jin and Yuan dynasties, Liu Wansu, Zhang Congzheng, Li Dongyuan (Li Gao), Zhu Danxi as key words, view the related books and literatures, periodicals, and borrow related literatures from the school library, read and study carefully, pick up the contents concerned as the target of research, present them to present scholars as references. The whole article is composed of three parts, the first part is to take Qi (vital energy) as the starting point to discuss the historical background, its relation with medicine, and its functions. The second part is to take the Confucian idealist philosophy as the theoretical background to discuss the formation and its influence toward medicine and its significance, and in the third part, it takes the doctrine of ascending and descending viewpoint to identify how it penetrates in the teachings of the four great doctors. The idea of "a hundred diseases come from the malfunctioning vital energy." This means the fluency of Qi movement is an important factor of survival of lives. While the doctrine of ascending and descending further explains the way it functions. Although the book ((Classic of Internal Medicine)) does not explain it fully, throughout the whole work, it takes Qi, the vital energy as an important argument viewpoint, which influences all the human internal organs, the main and collateral channels, and external four limbs and nine orifices, and the skin, flesh, muscles and bones. Human being's work and rest complies with the heaven, earth and four seasons, as well as Yin and Yang which means the positive and negative forces, if the heaven and earth change excessively or insufficiently, it will affect the human being, thus the ascending and descending of Qi movement would malfunction, so that diseases occur. There were brilliant medical achievements before Qin Dynasty in China, because of historical reasons, the atmosphere of Xuanxue -the dark learning then affected the formation of medical theories, treatment upon telling the diseases was the mainstream in medicine at that moment, the collection of formula was unseen. As the frequent wars brought along interchanges from every aspect, scholars became suspicious for what the ancients say, the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism had been mutually combined to form the Song Dynasty Confucian School of ideas, in which the most influential is "Ge Wu Zhi Zhi" which means to attain knowledge through studying the essence of things. The development of medicine requires scientific proofs. The government during Song Dynasty advocated to get rid of weird ideas and strange spirits, raised the social status ofscholar-doctors, under the guidance of the thinking "Attain knowledge through studying the essence of things", medicine had been changed significantly, the studies of the theory "Classic of Internal Medicine" and the relations of civilian diseases under the situation therefore were being resumed.Looking at the four great doctors of Jin and Yuan dynasties from the angle of ascending and descending doctrine, you will find these four great doctors treasured a lot for the (Classic of Internal Medicine) and got inspirations from it. Doctor Liu Hejian (Liu Wansu) utilized the theory of five elements (metal, wood, water, fire and earth) and six factors of nature (wind, cold ,summer heat, humidity, dryness and fire, which may also be called as Tai Yang, Shao Yang, Yang Ming, Tai Yin, Shao Yin, and Jue Yin) and found the interrelations in Kang Hai Cheng Zhi which means in case there were much hyper excessiveness, there would be corresponding Qi (vital energy) to depress i...
