Elderly Pneumonia And Middle-aged Pneumonia Clinical Features And Treatment Comparison

Pneumonia defines that pulmonary inflammation is caused by infection of bacteria,virus and other pathogenic microorganism. Because habitus of the elderly is worse than young person's, the elderly often have many kinds of basic disease, and they are short of the ability of accommodation to environment , so their symptoms are not very representative, on the other hand, bacteria's endurance to medicament is stronger and stronger. Consequently, it is with important significance and foreground to research pathogeny,nosogenesis, syndrome and treat for infection of bacteria which is able to endure medicament from Chinese medical view. Because pulmonary function and the ability of airway cleanup fall, and immune function weakens, the field planting bacteria increase and inhaled by the mouth and pharynx, basic disease and iatrogenic factors influence, the elderly are easy to sicken for pneumonia, mostly they don't have representative symptoms, and they have more syndromes. Besides, it's easy to be missed or be diagnosed wrong. So we should attach importance to diagnose and cure in the early phase. There are 77 pneumonia cases from department of respiratory and geriatrics sickroom in DongFang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Based on the national diagnosing standard , I established the including standard and excluding standard, then, observed 58 aged pneumonia patient and 19 young pneumonia patient, compared and analyzed the difference in clinical symptoms, medical examination,assistant examination,state of the disease, patient is treated by combination of Chinese medicine and western medicine. Western medicine prescribes ordinary antibiotics at first, and then prescribe special antibiotics purposefully till drug sensitivity test result comes out. Chinese medicine mostly the treatments applying with the pattern identification,and aimed at the elderly's characteristics, supporting healthy energy to eliminate evils. By analyzing comparatively, there are obvious difference in clinical symptoms, medical examination, assistant examination, the state of disease and curative effect between aged pneumonia patients and young pneumonia patients. Compared with young pneumonia patients, the aged patients possess some characteristics: the start of disease is dormant; pathological changes develop fast; symptoms are not representative; most is syndrome; the ratio of recovery is lower; the ratio of death is higher; they are easy to sicken for consciousness obstruction and turbulence of water and electrolyte; most pathogenies of pneumonia are some bacteria which don't cause disease originally ,or conditional pathogenic,and always be infected by various kinds of bacteria.
