Object: to study the effects of electroacupuncture(EA) "DazhuiDU14" " NeiguanPC6" on the expression of nerve growth factor(NGF) and its receptor(trkA) in cerebralischemia model of rats. Methods:40 SD rats were divided randomly into 4 groups as normal group, shamoperation group, model group, EA group. Zea Longa's model of reperfusion for ischemia was used for the study. The TUNEL method was used to display apoptosis state. The expressions of NGF and trkA were detected by immunohistoche micalassay(SABC). Results: TUNEL staining showed that EA could evidently suppress apoptosis of the ischemic cerebral tissues. In the number and addition o, SABC method suggested that EA could remarkably potentiate NGF and trkA expression. Conclusion: EA can relive apoptosis of the ischemic cerebral tissues and strengthen NGF and trkA expression suggested that EA has a certain protective action on ischemic cerebral injury through up-regulation of the expression of NGF and trkA.
