Acupuncture Treatment Of Stroke Patients With Pseudobulbar Palsy, Clinical Observations,

Objective: To study the factors of affecting the curative effects of acupuncture for pseudobular palsy(shortly called PBP below), and the mechanism of acupuncture treatment for it. Method: With the clinically more familiar type of wind and sputum blocking luo for example,the patients were randomly departed into two groups: the treating group treated by acupuncture combined medicine, and the control group treated by medicine. Observed and analyzed the age, course of disease, period of treatment, types of diseases, treatment opportunity etc. of PBP patients , how to affect the curative effects of acupuncture, and effects differences of accupuncture for dysphagia and anarthria complicated with PBP, and studied the changes of the hemodynamics of PBP patients . Result: Acupuncture is valid for PBP , the effect on treating group is significantly better than the control group(P<0.05). The curative effects of acupuncture for dysphagia is better than anarthria. The younger the PBP patients are, the better the curative effect is. The shorter the course of disease is, the more obvious the effect is. Along with the increase of period of treatment, the accumulation of quantity and energy, the effects of acupuncture gradually show out . Between cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage, the influences for effects have no obvious difference. Research also discovers that along with the increase apoplexia times taking place, the probability for heavy degree dysphagia is on the increase , the time is successive in advance, suggesting the importance of early treatment and prevention for apoplexia. And from the smaller amounts of samples of PBP patients, it reveals that hemodnamics is in the state of high glue, thick and conglomeration before the treatment,its main index signs are obviously lower by acupuncture treatment, suggesting acupuncture can apparently reduce the lung infection and malnutrition etc. complicated with PBP patients.Conclusion: Mechanism of acupuncture treatment for PBP may be profound. Analyzed from the angle of nerve reflect arc , dysphagia and anarthria complicated with PBP are in essence due to the obstacle in one of taches of nerve reflect arc. Acupuncture can make the destroyed nerve reflect arc reestablished, then restore the function of paralyzed nerve. Analyzed from the braim blood circulation, acupuncture decreases the states of high glue, thick and conglomeration of blood, and improve the microcirculation obstacle and metabolism, make the ischemic cerebral district and its "half dark zone " get valid perfusion, and secure sufficient supply of nutrients such as oxygen and glucose, etc, then promote the restoration of nerve function to the biggest limit, make the symptoms of PBP patientsimproved.
