We just summed up ancient and modern literature about curing symptoms of epigastralgia. and we summarized ancient and modern Principles of using points to cure epgastralgia, and the law of combiniting points. We discriminated the differences between ancient and modern thought of dialectic analysis and distinctions on choosing characteristic points. We analysed the causes of these differences. Through studying the principle of using points and the law of choosing points, we summarized the main points and the combining points which were used during the therapic process of acupuncture and moxibustion. We recommend a standard recipe to cure epigastralgia. Method: We searched ancient acupuncture documents fromQin and Han dynasties to Ming and Qing dynasties and-searched magazines published in china and edited papers from October 1949to April 2003. We put some order and summarized the principles of using points, the law of cmbining points, and high frequency of used points. Results: we summarized ancient and modern prescriptions overhead about curing epigastralgia, principles and law of combining points. Conclusion: Through analyzing and studying ancient and modem prescriptions we discussed the dialectical analysis and the law of Combining points in developing a direction for an appropriate therapy in acupuncture true and moxibustion. And we discussed the composition of the recipes and we summarized the high-frequency recipe in acupuncture and moxibustion to cure epigastralgia.
