Objective: Diabetic Foot (DF), one of the relatively severe complications of blood vessel disease, can cause patients to be disabled, even to death. No satisfied or excellent effect has been showed by Modern Medicine alone till now. Therefore looking for some effective methods on treating DF by the way of combining TCM and Modern Medicine has become a hotspot. This research was to observe and confirm the effect on treating DF mainly by the method of tonifying Qi, promoting blood flow and dredging collaterals, and by combining Modem Medicine at the same time. Methods: 30 patients(in-patient and out-patient) were chosen by certain standards and classified into acute period and relaxed period due to different state of illness and treated with different methods separately. Taken 2 months as a period of treatment, and then there will be a visit after 6 months. The glucose, the clinical manifestations, the ulcer and the function of the leg of the patients were all observed by the method of self-contrast before and after the treatment.Result: The near future curative effect (2 months) showed the patient's glucose decreased 39% averagely. Among the 30 patients, 14 were cured, 7 got apparent effect, 3 effect, 2 non-effect. The rate of total effect was 93.3%. The remote future curative effect (6 months) shows 26 were cured, 2 got apparent effect, 1 effect, 1 non-effect. The rate of total effect was 96.7%.Conclusion: The way that treating DF mainly by the method of tonifying Qi, promoting blood flow and dredging collaterals, and by combining Modern Medicine at the same time is remarkable for its curative effect and no side-effect, simple and easy for grasping and applying, valuable in promoting.
