Purpose: In order to clarificate the priciple of the tonic kindey herb(Migukeli) preventing and curing osteoporosis, we based our experient on observing the rat serum contained Migukeli how to affact the proliferation of osteoblast-like cells UMR106 cultrued in vitro, the concentration of free Ca2+ in UMRlO6 cells, the activity of CaMPK â…¡ in UMRlO6 cells. Method:MTT method was used to assay the proliferation of osteoblast-like UMR106 cells caused by serum contained tonic kidney herb . The method of absorption of actomic energy was used to assay the concentration of free Ca2 in cells UMR106. The liquid scintillation counting material was ?used to assay the cpm which Y -32P-ATP add to the response substrate, the activity of CaMPKII was expressed by the percent activaed CaM kinase. Result: Comparing with the control group, the concentration of 10% and 20% in the Gushukang control group and the Migukeli preventing and curing group can increse the proliferation rate and the concentration of free Ca2+ in the osteoblast-like cells 1UMR106, and the activity of CaMPK II in UMRlO6 cells by means of the dosage dependence. Conclusion : Migukeli may increase the proliferation rate of osteoblast-like cells UMR106 to prevent and cure osteoporosis by affacting the signal system of Ca2+/CaM.
