Confocal Microscopic Image Analysis System For The Establishment And Image Segmentation Methods

A Confocal Microscopic Image Compute-aided Analysis System has been developed. This system is composed of a Laser Scan Confocal Microscope and a analysis software which we developed specially for this system. Furthermore, this system provide many powerfiul functions including image sampling, image processing, parameter measurement, result analysis, visualization and so on. According to the characters of confocal microscopic images, we implemented various kinds of image processing approaches as the important part of CMIAS, including enhancement, interpolation, 3-D segmentation (clustering, thresholding, region growing). This system is applied successfully in the research of the Nitric Oxide releasing inside hippocampal neurons, and the research of the 3-D distributing of Calcium in hippocampal neurons. The establishment of CMIAS will provide the convenient, credible tool for medical research.
