Dodder Seed Aging Effect Study

With a systematic retrospect of the theory of senescence and the effect of Semen Cuscutae, we viewed that Semen Cuscutae as a traditional anti-aging herb, fulfilled its effect by tonifying the kidney essence, harmonizing both yin and yang, activating collaterals through warming and moisturizing,etc. And on the base of analyzing prescription characteristics of Semen Cuscutae, we believed that anti-aging prescription posses character of supplying Both spleen and kidney, but laying emphasis on the kidney, enriching yin and yang, eliminating phlegm and blood stasis. In the experimental research, we observed the effect of Cuscuta Chinese lam decoction to the life of drosophila melanogaster, the faculty of memory and staying power of mouse. The result showed it could prolong the mean life of drosophila, improve memory, lessen fatigue than the controlled group. It also evidenced that the objective of anti-aging is to prolong life and improve the quality of Ii fe.
