Clearance Capsule Treatment Of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia And Mechanism Of Action Studies

Objective: to evaluate clinical efficacy of Tongguan CaPsule on benign prostatichyperplasia(BPH), and to explore its mechanism. Methods: in clinic,90 cases ofBPH were chosen randomly to be compared by ratio of 2 to 1, in experiment, SDrice were made into BPH models by peritoneal injection of testosterone after havingbeen castrated, then changes of prostatic tissues in all groups were studied bymorphometry. Expressions of Ki-67 anigen, bcl-2,induced nitric oxide synthase(iNOS), α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA) were stUdied in prostatic tissues in allgroups by inununohistochemistry and image analysis system. Results: clinicalst'Udies showed that total efficacious rate was 83.3%, obvious efficacious rate, 35.0%,that symptom of dysuria of patients could be relieved, uroflow rate increased, I-PSSdecreased, and that prostatic volume could become smaller after a long tAne ofmedication with no obvious advent events observed. Experiment showed thatTongguan Capsule could reduce of prostatic gland and stroma, inhibit expressions ofKi-67 anigen, α-SMA, bcl-2,and increase expression of iNOS in prostate.CoucIusions: Tongguan Capsule has a good effect on BPH, Which can improvesymptoms and reduce prostate. It was indicated that Tongguan Capsule maydecrease prostatic tension by inhibiting proliferation of prostatic smooth muscle andincreasing expression of iNOS, reduce prostatic volume by inhibiting proliferationof prostatic cells and inducing prostatic apoptosis.
