| Purpose:To study the influence of TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs on the condition of oxidative stress and the function of isletβcells of type 2 daibetes mellitus rats.Material and method:Rat model of type two diabetes mellitus was duplicated by using small dose strepozotocin(STZ) and high caloric diet,and using TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs and rosiglitazone acted on model rats individually. By using methods of Xanthine oxidase,visible spectrophotometry and thibabituric acid assessment of the activities of SOD,CAT and the contents of MDA .By using method of homeostasis model assessment of isletβcells(HOMA-β).Results:1. The activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD): Before the treatment ,model group was significantly lower than normal control group level in the activity of superoxide dismutase ( P < 0.01). After the treatment,though the levels of SOD of TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group and rosiglitazone group are obviously lower than normal control group, they are obviously higher than that of model group(P<0.05). And there is no significant difference between TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group and rosiglitazone group(P>0.05).2. The activity of catalase (CAT): Before the treatment ,model group was significantly lower than normal control group level in the activity of catalase ( P < 0.01). After the treatment,though the levels of CAT of TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group and rosiglitazone group are obviously lower than normal control group, they are obviously higher than that of model group(P<0.05). And there is no significant difference between TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group and rosiglitazone group(P>0.05).3. the content of malonaldehyde (MDA): Before the treatment ,model group was significantly higher than normal control group level in the content of MDA ( P < 0.01). After the treatment,though the levels of MDA of TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group and rosiglitazone group are obviously higher than normal control group, they are obviously lower than that of model group(P<0.05). And there is no significant difference between TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group and rosiglitazone group(P>0.05).4. HOMA-β: Before the treatment ,model group was significantly lower than normal control group level in HOMA-β( P < 0.01). After the treatment,though the levels of HOMA-βof TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group and rosiglitazone group are obviously lower than normal control group, they are obviously higher than that of model group(P<0.05). And there is no significant difference between TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group and rosiglitazone group(P>0.05).5 . The correlation among SOD,CAT,MDA and HOMA-β:After the treatment, the levels of HOMA-βwere significantly positive correlation with the activities of SOD,CAT (r=0.33,P<0.05),(r=0.44,P<0.01), and negative correlation with the content of MDA (r=-0.44,P<0.01).Conclusion:1. TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group can increase the activity of superoxide dismutase significantly.2. TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group can increase the activity of catalase significantly.3. TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group can decrease the content of malonaldehyde significantly.4. TangKe decoction of compound Chinese herbs group can improve the function ofβcells of islet in deep extent. |
