| The Chinese consumer electronics (CE) industry has been developing unbelievably fast in the past 20 years. The market has experienced a change from extreme short supply to severe oversupply. The whole industry has been suffering from sudden huge profits to tiny profits. Because of the wide and rapid changes, all the CE enterprises had to develop various innovative products and adjust their focus to the latest information technology (IT) applications. Meanwhile, cost reduction and advantage enhancement are as important as water and bread for most of CE enterprises in China. Now, the logistics is regarded as"last straw"for there is almost no room for cost saving. Thus almost all the Chinese CE enterprises concentrate their attention on how to integrate supply chain management (SCM) and the logistics services.In such circumstances, the common task of these enterprises is how to integrate and optimize the supply chain. There are two typical models to study. One is represented by Haier which enhance the logistics efficiency by setting up the logistics division to integrate the supply chain among his strategic business unit (SBU). Another one is Midea which reduce his logistics cost through outsourcing third-parties logistics services.This thesis starts with introducing the logistics strategic investors to Changhong. It analyzes the Chinese logistics market for CE products and the logistics status quo of Changhong company. With pointing out several existing critical problems, it emphasizes the solution is to establish a Joint Venture with the strategic investor. In the meantime, the writer pictures the to-be Joint Venture in some respects, such as setup, management structure, financial control, possible risks and operating evaluation, etc..This thesis ends with the logistics solution for Changhong. It is outsourcing third-parties logistics services and forming strategic partnership reinforced by capital investment, which is happening and to be the trend in Chinese CE industry. |
