Logistics is hailed as one of the industries which have the most potential in the 21st century. With the progress that we became a member of WTO and the progress of economic globalization, logistics has become an important industry and a new economic growth point in the economic progress of our country. In the 21st century, China will be the information, network, standardization and intelligent society. In such a society, the barriers of the development of the logistics industry are fewer and fewer. The perfect of the market mechanism, the growth of economy , the improving of the legal system and the application of the modern high technology have provided good conditions for rational logistics. Although logistics industry has developed rapidly in China, but still can not catch up with the needs of economic development. So it must be given great attention.The concept of logistics firstly produced in the United States and subsequently has also been widely used in Europe and Japan. At present, compared with the advanced countries, logistics theory and practice in China are still at an elementary stage, there is still a considerable gap. However, with the development of the national economy, increasingly importance has been attached to the logistics industry. The development of the logistics industry has been considered to be the priority industry. Logistics as a"Third-party source of profit", has become hot topics which studied by a large number of experts, scholars and enterprises.Logistics center is a bridge connecting providers and clients in logistics network. It plays an important role in logistics system. Good location of the logistics centers has a pushing effect on the function of logistics system and the improvement of economic benefits.Based on summarizing the researching actualities of location problem of logistics centers, the characteristic of logistics center location has been analyzed and the models and algorithms of logistics center location have been researched. The main contents of this thesis are as followed: (1)The researching actuality of logistics center location is introduced.(2)The basic theories and methods of the logistics center location are analyzed, and the basic theories of bi-level programming are introduced. These lay the foundations for building models of logistics center location.(3)Without consideration of competition, the paper studies the problem of logistics center location. The interests of the logistics planning department and the clients are taken into account with bi-level programming. The more realistic model of the bi-level programming is builded, a simple heuristic algorithm is proposed and a numerical example is verified.(4)Considering the competition, the paper studies the problem of logistics center location. In actual decision-making of logistics center location, there have been some old logistics centers ahead of building new logistics centers. Between the old and the new logistics centers there are competitions. This means that customers demands are not only from the new logistics centers, but also part of the demands are probably from the old logistics centers. Based on this case to consider the competition, a bi-level programming model is established. This model has been improved based on the original models. Combined with a specific example, Genetic algorithm is used to solve the problem. The effectiveness and feasibility of the model and algorithm are verified.
