Not only the common risks for all of other general enterprises should be faced, but also certain specific risks and threatens may be confronted by the power grid corporations for the reason of properties of electric power generation, of which the most complicated risk factors and the largest number of risk points falls into the power marketing affairs. Therefore, it makes important sense to import mature western theories and methods of risk management into power marketing affairs of domestic power grid corporations, in order for that the interior risk points could be recognized and assessed accurately, preserved and controlled effectively, and then the risks inside such affairs could be managed and evaded reasonably.On the foundation of sufficient investigation of risks within power marketing affairs, the primary theories of risk and risk management are introduced, and the existing risks are analysed systematacially. Then the major risks are classified and interpreted as category, and corresponding risk management approaches are raised. The chief contents of investigation are as follows:1. The major risks and market environment of power marketing affairs are analysed, based on which, it divides the major risks into four categories:Operating Risk, Customer Credit Risk, Power Supply Service Risk, and Information Security Risk. The characteristics, generating mechanism and influencing factors of each kind of risk are expatiated.2. Considered the practical situation of the development of Chinese power market on the stage, it indicates that the hedge contract for difference is the most appropriate financial derivatives to reduce power operating risk. The analog computation of the practical process that reduing the power purchasing price fluctuated risk of power grid corporations by hedge contract for difference is processed. Based on the result, it advances the power price hedge mode with hedge contract for difference plus complete power quantity bidding should be the most appropriate operating risk management approach for power marketing affairs of power grid corporations.3. Direct towards the customer credit risk confronted by power marketing affairs on the stage, the credit rating evaluating indicator system of electric power customers is established, on combination of mature customer credit risk assessment approaches used in finance industry. Based on the correspongding calculations of weight and weight number, the evaluating standard of electric power customers'credit rating is presented. After the risk classification of customers determined, the service precept and advice towards each classification are posed.4. In order to research the provisions that could reduce service risk at the primary stage of power supply service, it proposes the management procedures of expectation of electric power customers, approaches of expectation setting and constrainting, and ways to satisfy the reasonable expectation of customers that are suit for power marketing affairs. Aiming at the power supply service fault, the theory of service fault recorvery is introduced, the process of which is analyzed, and the process and operating strategy of power supply service fault recorvery are presented on the combination of process model of classical service fault recorvery.5. Taking the threatens that confronted by information security of power marketing affairs as engagement, the approaches and process of information security risk assessment are imported into the information system of power marketing affairs. The risk assessment is conducted to the information security risk of power marketing affairs as the flow of assessment preparation, assets identification, hazards and weak points recognization, existing safety measures validation, and comprehensive risk computation. Based on which, the fundamental principle, provisions, and durative control strategy of information security risk management of power marketing affairs are put forward.
