Drawing is a key processes to ensure the quality of the final steel wire products. Tension Drawing Machine Control System is the main control system, guarantee the quality steel wire to meet user demand, which plays a vital role in raising the precision of finished steel, have important practical significance.Subject to the background of nonlinear tension control model of Drawing Machine, and the difference between front and back tensions, the uncertainty brings bad effect on the performance PID control. A new type of control algorithm was proposed:fuzzy control algorithm, and combined it with the traditional PID control algorithm.This paper describes the working principle of wire drawing machine, focuses on the process of drawing, and analyses the different types of wire drawing machine, sums up that the improvement of control solution is the key problem of improving tension control for wire drawing machine. And then, the mathematical models of tension control measuring machine, straight wire drawing machine are established. According to the characteristics of the control system, the paper has pointed out reasons of fuzzy control algorithm selection. In depth study of the classic PID control and fuzzy control algorithms, laid a theoretical foundation for the accurate realization of tension control system.Since many factors affect the tension system, the use of single-channel control is difficult to achieve high-precision control. This controller has been selected based on double Fuzzy PID controllers. A wire drawing machine tension control system is designed and the structure of the fuzzy PID control for Steel drawing machine is proposed. The simulation of PID and fuzzy PID tension control system is given out, and comparison, simulation results show that performance of the fuzzy tension control is obviously better than traditional PID control method. And the feasibility, effectiveness and robustness prove that Fuzzy PID can successfully complete its application to Steel drawing machine tension control.At the same time, based on the establishment of the steel drawing control system by Siemens PLC, we also implement the fuzzy PID control algorithm. Control process and software design are proposed. It is proved that the control strategy has a strong Adaptability and practical value.
