Research On The Feasibility And Application Of Ah-index

H-index called many scientists'attention as soon as it was proposed.Many scientists begin to study h-index from different perspectives.It was founded that h-index has the advantages which are different from the traditional criteria used to evaluate scientific output of a researcher and the disadvantages which limit its application.So scientists proposed some new "H-type" indices trying to overcome some of the disadvantages of h-index,for example,g-index,h(2)index,A-index and AR-index.In view of the advantages and disadvantages of h-index,this paper proposed AH-index.Also,the author does a feasibility study of AH-index,and researches its synchronic application and evolution over time.The paper proved it is feasible to some extent to evaluate the scientific research output of a scientist and the influence of an academic journal by using AH-index,and AH-index solves the problem of never decreasing existing in h-index by taking the literature obsolescence into account.The main content is as following.Firstly we talk about research background,research review,innovation points and research methods in the introduction.In the first part,this paper gives the definition of AH-index,and verifies its feasibility in evaluating the scientific research output of a scientist and the influence of an academic journal by doing the Correlation Analysis between AH-index and h-index.In the second part,this paper analyzes the synchronic application of AH-index in evaluating the scientific research output of a scientist and the influence of an academic journal,and discusses some factors such as discipline difference,scientist's age,scientific cooperation which impact AH-index's application.This paper also does comparative analysis between AH-index and Impact Factor of journal.In the third part,this paper constructs time AH-sequence and cumulative AH-sequences,and reveals the evoluation of AH-index over time and its mechanism.In the fourth part,the author points out the achievements and defects of this paper,and predicts the concentrations of future research on AH-index.At last,this paper believes that AH-index is an index incorporating quantity, quality and literature obsolescence.It corrects the problem that h-index can never decrease.Because of the the complexity of the activity of scientific research,there is a lot of work to do on the research of AH-index.
