| Digital Library adopts digital information system which is supported by modern high-tech resources. It is the information resources management model for the next era of Internet, as well as information center that is free for time and space, user-friendly and in ultra-large scale. However, with the rapid growth in digital library information resources, users find it difficult to find out the really useful information when searching for, processing and taking advantage of information. Even if beneficial information is found, problems still exist in figuring out knowledge hidden behind.Visualization technology is an emerging discipline developed over the past decades with improvements made in computer technology and database technology. Information Visualization is a vital research target of visualization technology, which is used to enhance people's awareness of abstract information by the support of computer as well as interactive and visualization of abstract data. It is the research field of information resource management and an effective way of processing large-scale data, finding intrinsic relationship between data, also improving the ability of learning.The whole thesis which is set into the background of digital library analyze different application of information visualization technology in digital library. Through the analysis of its application, combined with the basic system of digital library structure and information visualization reference model, a digital library model of information visualization was put forward, and functions of each module was analyzed.The specific arrangement of the thesis is as follows: analysis of information visualization research both domestic and abroad and then present basic theories of information visualization in detail. It first insight into the meaning of information visualization, characteristics, classification, research fields and the basic process of visualization , and analyze the needs of the application of information visualization in digital library as theoretical basis of this paper.Second comes the main part of the paper, the analysis of several application methods of information visualization in digital library which involves digital information resources library storage, information resource description, storage, retrieval, delivery and outcome of the entire process of human-computer interaction. Then, on the basis of studies mentioned above, this thesis combines information visualization reference model and the basic digital library architecture, brings up a model of information visualization in digital library and introduces every part of the model comprehensively.Finally, there is the summary statement of the whole thesis, and the future developing trend of information visualization technology's application in digital library. |
