Nowadays, the characteristic of manufacturing IT application is the model in product design, analysis, process planning and assembly stages is different, which leads big information redundancy, lack data consistency, high cost, low efficiency, and information integrated and inherited hardly. The essence of product digital model is that model is the carrier of information, and model with full information is crucial part of manufacturing IT. Therefore, further advanced theories, scientific methodologies and modeling technique are inplementing product information integrated and inherited efficiently. Moreover, developing the integrating software system which can offers general supports for product lifecycle is the ideal channel.The research is based on'the theoretical methodology of project and product design', being the National Natural Science Foundation (60635020) project. The'A Model with Four Bodies'product information model (AMFB model) architecture, which encapsulates Basic body, Retrieval body, Control body, and Intelligent body, is presented, as well as the'Independent Unit Information'(IUI) conception. Firstly, through classifying product information, summing up its characteristics and founding the data space model structure of product information, Retrieval body is researched, including establishing the relation of Basic body and IUI, and the following technique of information and model.Then, Control body is also researched, including the control of information store, retrieval, management and the interaction of model and external resource. The serving function of model is embodied fully by achieving the'match to send'mechanism of model information and working course.In addition, the components, data structure and the applied program framework of ACIS-HOOPS platform are researched. Then, the route of establishing AMFB model is presented.A software system of integrating information is developed, which achieves the basic function of CAD system, such as creation, edit and display of wire models, surface models, as well as solid models. And AMFB model based on ACIS attribute mechanism is inplemented. Finally, it is verified in automobile typical parts design. The research mentioned in this paper is significant in theoretical and actual applied for the project technical fields such as information and machinery.
