With the development of the technology, using FPGA to design electronic circuit is becoming the trend of design because of it's short time and relative less fund.This paper focuses on the implementation technology of digital filters based on FPGA which applied in ion mobility spectrometry. Ion mobility spectrometry is an instrument for analyzing the composition by recording arrival times of different ions under a constant uniform electric field. Foreign particles and technical operations can interfere the output signal, and influence the detecting.Based on the spectrum analysis of the ion migration, this paper is aimed at using low-pass-filters to reduce the noise. The low-pass FIR filter is used for its good linear phase character. The frequency cutoff is determined through spectrum analysis on MATLAB. The filter is designed and simulated by window function and equivalent ripple manner on MATLAB. The results of analyzing and comparing showed that a thirty-two taped low-pass FIR filter based on Kaiser window is taken as a scheme.The designs are synthesized by quartusâ…ˇusing VHDL codes. The thirty-two order filter is worked out using distributed arithmetic algorithm which is simplified by symmetry. At last the design file is programmed to the FPGA chip, and analyzed by SignalTapâ…ˇ. The results showed that the filter can reduce noise and improve the accuracy of the transport time and migration rate.
