This is a rapid development of information period with. Being an important sign of this period, Internet has already permeated into all fields of human society. TCP/IP is the core of Internet. This protocol plays a crucial role in the routine information exchanging of network. However TCP/IP still has many defects. These defects bring many troubles during the use of Internet. How to correct the defects of TCP/IP? How to perfect the TCP/IP implementation mechanism of every operating system? How to enhance the reliability, stability and efficiency during the TCP/IP network? These problems are urgency. Investigation and improvement of TCP/IP implementation mechanism in every operating system will promote the developing of Internet and the information period.Combine with the Red Hat 9 Linux operating system, this article analyzies the mechanism of control flow state transition in TCP termination phase, investigates implementation of the mechanism about control flow state transition in TCP termination phase in Linux operating system, points out the defects about process of implementation. This article uses the principle of Socket communication type and Proc file system and proposes methods to eliminate the defects of present mechanism, designs and implements FINWAIT2 state Timer control method based on E-Socket communication type and EPES. Through the test, new methods inhibit the defects of the mechanism about control flow state transition in TCP termination phase in Linux operating system effectively.
