| Erectile dysfunction (ED) can be defined as the inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance. Considered a major public health problem, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients and family life and social relationship. It is of great significance to develop one kind of drug used safely with higher efficiency for treating ED, protecting man's physiological and psychological health and societal development .There are various agents to lead to ED. Thereinto, neurological disorders, endocrinologic disturbance and increased blood viscosity are the main factors. When we want to develop a drug for treating the ED, the aim is to resumes their functions, which is also the principle to treat ED.Nowadays, Sildenafil, Tadalafil and Vardenafil are the impactful drugs to improve erectile function among lots of oral drugs . However, the side effects were emerged when patients take them for long time Ligustrazine is one of the clinical and oral drugs to treat ED. Ligustrazine is benefit for the circulation of blood, depress blood viscosity, regulate the function of nervous system. L-carnitine is useful drug in increasing the heart's output and releasing the fatigue, as well as, reinforcing physical force and enhancing vigor of immune system. Icarii is the main component of Epimedium grandiflorum Morr. Cells at interstitial tissue of testis can excrete testosterone, which can be accelerated by Icarii. In addition, Icarii can also improve the circulation of blood, depress blood viscosity. Hence it may be a very impactful drug that mixed with Ligustrazine and L-carnitine or mixed with Ligustrazine, L-carnitine and Icarii for treating ED.In the present investigation, 25 male Wister rats (weight 230-260g) were divided into ED model (n=20) and control groups (n=5). The ED rats were divided into experimental group (n=15) and experimental control group (n=5). The ED rats of experimental group were administrated with several dosage drugs that mixed with Ligustrazine and L-carnitine or mixed with Ligustrazine, L-carnitine and Icarii by gastric irrigation once a day for 16 days. The ED rats of experimental control group were administrated with saline by gastric irrigation once a day for 16 days. One days later, the sexual activity was observed for all rats of the 5 groups. Three days later, the testosterone level in serum and blood viscosity were mensurated. And then, all the data were analyzed to evaluate the effect of the drugs for treating ED rat. We hoped to get the perfect drug for treating ED.The experimental results shown that:â‘ The ED rat model that we made was very successful model, and it was the foundation for obtaining the authentic data in the present study.â‘¡After the ED rats were treated by drug of one time dose, which mixed with Ligustrazine and L-carnitine, the testosterone level in the serum was recoverd , however the sexuality was not resumed to normal.â‘¢After the ED rats were treated by drug of two time dose, which mixed with Ligustrazine and L-carnitine, the testosterone level in the serum was significant higher than control rats, and the sexuality was resumed to normal.â‘£After the ED rats were treated by the drug that mixed with Ligustrazine and L-carnitine of two time dose and Icarii, the testosterone level in the serum was awfully significant higher than control rats, and the sexuality was sthenic. So that, we thought that the drug of two time dose which mixed with Ligustrazine and L-carnitine was a better compages, because it was very impactful to recover the ED rat's sexuality.Finally, added the Icarii into the drug that composed of two time dose of Ligustrazine and L-carnitine, It may be a baleful compages. As the sthenic sexuality is harmful and adverse to human health. Therefore, in the future research we can just use the compages that mixed with suitable dose of Ligustrazine and L-carnitine to get the drug with better therapeutic effect. |
