Objective:To evaluate the clinic efficacy of Yishenqiangzhi in patients with Tourette's Syndrome (TS).Methods:According to the diagnostic criteria,66 TS patients were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group (n=33) received Yishenqiangzhi therapy, and the control group (n=33) received oral haloperidol therapy. After treatment for 2 courses (12 weeks for a course), all patients were followed up for six months. The overall efficacy, tic classification efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine symptom improvement rate and long-term efficacy, adverse reactions and safety were measured before and after treatment in both groups.Results:1. The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group was 90.9%,75.8%, respectively. The tic efficacy of exercise groups and vocal tic groups showed no significant difference,P>0.05;classification and comparison in the improvement of facial muscle twitching, twitching limbs and vocal tic were better than the control group(P<0.05). The two groups of TCM syndrome efficient rates were 81.8%,66.7%, the two groups showed no significant difference (P>0.05). Age, duration and efficacy showed no significant correlation, P>0.05. The two groups in exercise-induced tics and vocal tic efficacy showed no significant difference (P>0.05). The treatment group and control group before and after treatment showed significant improvement of EEG (P<0.05).2. The adverse reaction rates of the treatment group and control group were 3.0%,27.2%, treatment group was significantly lower than the control group, (P<0.01).3. Follow-up after the treatment group and control group, recurrence rates were 9.3%,33.3%, P>0.05, long-term efficacy of the two groups showed no significant difference. Conclusion:With a less adverse reaction rate, Yishenqiangzhi therapy has a beneficial effect in TS patients...
