Eurya is a genus of dioecious shrubs and trees(separate femal and male plant)native to tropical and subtropical Asia and Pacific islands. Aa an ornamental, Eurya has much to recommend it, with its strong branching pattern, dark green leaves, copious greenish-white flowers and, on femal plants, black berries. The minute flowers are attractive.Eurya is a kind of ornamental plant that has the potentiality to be exploited very much. There are abundant resource of Eurya in China, account for total kinds of 60%.The paper took the Eurya muricata, Eurya japonica and Eurya emarginata as experiment materials. It also studied the breeding of them and the main results are stated as following:1. The effect of seed vernalization show:(1) The treatments of GA3 and PEG of 6000 molecular both improved germination percentage and percentage viability of Eurya muricata seeds effectively. When the thickness of GA3 was 100ppm, the treatment effect was the best; when using PEG, the best treatment effect was based on the percentage of 30% and 24 initiate. Relatively, the effect of PEG was better.(2) The treatment of 15% PEG of 10000 molecular mass for 48h can improve germination percentage and percentage viability of Eurya japonica seeds effective-(3) The germination percentage and percentage viability of Eurya emarginata were higher than the former two. During medicament treatment, the effect of PEG was not evident, but the treatments of 100ppm GA3 can improve germination percentage and percentage viability of seeds at a certain degree.2. Tissue culture(1) Eurya muricata: It was a good way for obtaining the initial explants to cultivate the sterile seedlings for some time and then cut apical bud. But the effect of 40-55d seedling age was the best. The cooperate combination of IAA and BA was able to get plentiful strong bud. The optimum induction medium was MS + IAA1.5 + BA4,the highest induction rate 100%,the rate of increase may amount to 15 at most,the sugar concentration was 40g/l;The rooting medium was 1/4 MS + IBA0.25, the highest rooting rate 95.7%, the sugar concentration was 20g/l.(2) Eurya japonica: It was a good way for obtaining the initial explants to cultivate the sterile seedlings for some time and then cut apical bud. But the effect of 40-55d seedling age was the best.The optimum induction medium was MS+IBA2+BA2 , the highest induction rate 100% , But Eurya japonica grew thickly, the sugar concentration was 40g/l; The optimum development and elongation medium was MS+IBA0.5+KT0.5, the buds grew more healthier and stronger, the sugar concentration was 40g/l ; The rooting medium was 1/8 MS + IBA0.25, the highest rooting rate 70.8% , the sugar concentration was 20g/l.(3) Eurya emarginata : Eurya emarginata organization cultivates were different from the former two. The MS medium was not suitable for it. The comparatively proper medium was B5. The optimum induction medium was B5 + IBA0.5 + BA2 , the highest induction rate 68% . pH value was an important facter in the propagation of axillary buds,which reach to 6.4was suitable .
