| In order to find out the best directions of different combinations for the productive department, solve the transportation of forestation in mountains and achieve the solid culture,a study on the selection of optimal directions of light soilless culture substrates for the Chinese pine with castoffs such as slag, sawdust, half decayed straw and cottonseed hull, of which mushroom was raised, was conducted through several single factor experiments. The results are as follows: 1. It is feasible to raise seedlings of Chinese pine with the above materials not only because of their light quality but also of the rather better results with the best direction than that of earthy culture. 2. The best culture results could be achieved with the direction of slag (diameter less than 5mm) and sawdust with a ratio of 3:2. Bulk specific gravity of the substrate is 0.50g/cm3, which is only 43.9% of the nursery soil. It's PH-value is 7.08.It is optimal if the volume percentage takes account of 2% of the substrate mixture with decayed oil dregs as base compounds. Heat injury may often occur if this percentage is more than 5%. 3. The optimal direction is expressed as:4:3:1 for slag(≤5mm), sawdust and half decayed straw if they are employed for Chinese pine. The bulk specific gravity is 0.47g/cm3,which account for 41% of the soil, PH-value is 6.97.A direction of 2:1:1 or 4:1:3 for slag(≤2mm), sawdust and half decayed straw may also be adopted if the sawdust is not sufficient. 4. Diameter of slag should be less than 2mm if the direction of cottonseed hull, slag and saw -dust is applied because of higher ratio between air and moisture of the cottonseed hull. The best direction is 3∶2∶3for slag(≤2mm),sawdust and cottonseed hull respectively. It's bulk specific gravity is 0.4 g/cm3, accounts for 35% of soil, and PH-value 6.56. 5. It is excellent for Chinese pine if slag and humus soil is applied. The optimal direction is 2∶1for slag(≤5mm) and humus soil respectively. It's bulk specific gravity is 0.64 g/cm3,accounts for only 56% of soil, and PH-value 6.88. 6. The best culture results could be achieved with the direction of perlite and humus soil with a ratio of 3:2. Its' bulk specific gravity of the substrate is 0.34 g/cm3, accounts for only 30% of soil, and pH-value 5.98.7. Having compared the best directions of various combinations, it is discovered that the best culture results may be achieved with a direction of 3∶2 for perlite and humus soil, however their costs are rather high. A better result may be obtained if a direction of 2∶1 for slag(≤5mm) and humus soil is adopted. It doesn't have any significant difference in contrast with other combinations. 8. Humus soil is the best culture substrate for Chinese pine. 9. Due to their lower cost, higher efficiency and simplicity, the ecologically mixed organic substrates may avoid somewhat disadvantages of substrates of single components. Slag can be applied for Chinese pine seedlings at a acidity site condition if alkalinity of slag may be neutralized by organic materials. An ideal culture substrate can be subscripted if mixtures of various substrates are adopted so that to compensate each other, to raise their advantages and to avoid their disadvantages. |
