Northwest Arid And Semi Arid Areas Of Urban Water Landscape Construction Research

Water is the source of life, all living things depend on the water for their growth. Water give birth to human culture, the settlement which near by the river in the times of Neolithic to the city and county which in the modern times, water is a very important factor to the daily life and human society developing. The objectivity relation which between the human and water, decide the human have affinity to water. The waterfronts of city which have diversity nature environment make a good effort to the city's development, it gives the resident a nice place which far away from the uproar city and near by the nature.The research about the landscape planning and design of urban waterfronts in the modern time is origin from the American, it's most important purpose is improving the nature environment of city and the resident's quality of life. The research about the landscape planning and design of urban waterfronts is rising in china in the recent years, its purpose is to improve and recreating the environment of waterfronts, stimulate the development of industrial. The target for the research both in the domestic and external is focus on the cities which have a lot of rainfall or have a good condition of water environment, but for the other cities.This article's object for the research is the city which in the Arid and Semi-arid region, analyses and summary these city's water environment and the waterfront condition in the base on the city investigate and collect the data. Give the planning and design principle and method for the construct of the waterfronts in these cities, the conclusion of the article is:(1) The geography and water condition of the Arid and Semi-arid area make the decision that not all the city which in the area have the qualification to construct urban waterfronts. Only the cities which have better water condition can make the urban waterfronts.(2) The planning and design of the urban waterfronts include three aspects, the physical landscape planning; the nature landscape planning and the human activity landscape planning. The planning and design of urban waterfronts divide into different layer. The first planning layer is the water system planning and design which depend on the city's master plan. The second planning layer is based on the district plan and site plan of city, it's involve revetment plan, green space plan, road plan, architecture plan and so on. (3) The Arid and Semi-arid area have a long history and splendid culture, the urban waterfronts plan must outstanding the city's history and culture, reflect the city's particular region culture.(4) The planning and design of urban waterfronts must follow the principles which reflect the waterfront's naturalness, ecological, culture, secure and so on. The plan and design must reflect the principle of people oriented; consider the resident's psychological need. The plan and design of urban waterfronts in the Arid and Semi-arid area also need reflect the principle of save on water, coordinate the water resource which used to the resident's daily life, industrial required and urban waterfront consume.
