In recent years, along with the development of subway construction, it is inevitable to construct subway in karst regions. So it is exigent to research the influences of karst caves and soil caves on the stability of subway tunnel in karst regions. Guangzhou is constructing rail transit cosmically. The north of Subway line No.2,aerodrome line of Subway line No.3,Subway line No.5,Subway line No.6 and the subway line between Guangzhou and Foshan all thrill through the region of limestone. There are many karst caves and soil caves. Based on the disposal of karst along Guangzhou rail transit, this paper uses FEM and similar model test as the research means to study the influences of karst caves and soil caves on the subway tunnel.(1) Base on the rule of similar material and the fact of the test, I select the similar material of the rock and soil preliminary. And choose the similar material of the test ultimately which meeting the similar criterion maximum.(2) Progressing indoor model test with large proportion. Studying the influences of karst caves and soil caves in different location and different size, on the strain of segment lining, the stability of segment lining, the settlement of soil above the subway tunnel and the soil press around the subway tunnel.(3) Adopting MIDAS-GTS software to establish 3D model. Simulating the karst caves and soil caves which in different location and different size. Studying the change of the strain of segment lining, the settlement of soil above the subway tunnel. Then comparing the test results with the numerical simulation results.(4) According to the numerical simulation results, giving a proposal for the scope of the karst caves and soil caves that need be disposed.
