Cable Dome, as a long-span flexible structure, was founded by Geiger in 1986. It is based on the Tensegrity System of Fuller. Form -finding process of cabe dome is a significant problem for cabe dome design. Research work in this field in developed countries didn't involve key techniques and.Lots of research work in our country is still in trial stage.Cable dome with given surface geometry, The force density method is presented for determination of stress distribution in initial equilibrium states. And the concept of the integral possible prestress is used to simplify the calculation.In this thesis.Dynamic Relaxation method is presented for determination of both initial geometry and stress distribution. Cable dome with given surface geometry, The method is effective.The analysis of static behavior of Cable Dome in this thesis. The first part aims to trace loading process, where load-displacement curve and variation of cable stress are determined. The second part concerns cable prestress, which is changed to investigate its effects on the stiffness and failure load of Cable Dome.At the end of the thesis, some conclusions are summarized and the further study on Cable Dome is proposed.
