Steel residue is the residues that are produced in the production process of smelting iron.The amount is 10% to 25% of the output of steel. For a long time, the rate of recycling steel residues is lower in our country than that in foreign country, and the benefit is very low because plenty of steel residues are only used to refill. Steel residues not only occupy much cultivated land, but also make soil and water alkaline and pollute the environment because there is alkaline substance in the steel residues.Based on the analysis and research on all kinds of characteristics of steel residue and the characteristics of wet subsidence loess in central plain area, we carry out the construction with pile driver. Then the steel residue and cement are mixed together as the aggregate of stakes to be well-distributed, some estimates in terms of some equations are made. Furthermore, the steel residues are rationally used to reinforce wet subsidence loess foundation during the construction, and the detections are made to check the applicability in practice. So the effectiveness of the steel residues used in the reinforcement to the loess foundation is proved from the theory and practice. Not only does this utility decrease the project cost and save the construction cost, but also a new way to recycle the steel residues is found, and it can also reduce the steel residues to pollute the environment.
