Acquisition of spatial data with high speed is a key technology of digital city engineering. The vehicle-borne 3D information acquisition system with the characters of self-controlled and mobile framework of geographical coordinate is investigated and relative data processing software is developed. The main researched contents include:(1) High precision synchrocyclotron of time controlWe present the CCD camera synchronization control device basedon GPS. And both the hardware and software design method of the controldevice is expounded in this paper, especially for the high degree ofaccuracy precision clock.(2) Acquisition of LMS's spatial data with high speedThe system is a necessary supplement to the technology of airborne earth observation, in which the information acquisition of shade block and face of high-building and complicated structure of tier building, and the problems of 3D speedy surveying of city and quantities of engineering constructing are to be solved.(3) The construct of integrated multi-sensorsThe system integrated multi-sensors which can achieve the collection of multi-original data on the real-time including GPS positioning, laser-scanning distance and CCD images. In the software we developed, post-processing of GPS data which provides the geographical position, speed of vehicle, the coordinates and attitudes of sensors, post-processing laser-scanning data which supply the rang, height, width of the buildings, post-processing the image data of CCD which offers adjusted objects texture, and reconstruction of 3D model are achieved. (4) The real "Digital city"There is an urgent need to use modern computer technology for aided planning and design in city planning and architecture design. However, the basis for computer aided planning and design is establishing the 3D digital landscape model of the built-up area of city.To accomplish that, we need to digitize the city landforms and every kind of artificial architectures including roads, house, gardens, and so on, then represent them in the form of 3D virtual reality. First the basic principles of the 3D cyber city information system are discussed. Then, the modeling technology and methodology for various landforms and features are introduced and discussed. Finally, Beijing city is used as an example to introduce the established 3D landscape model.
