With the development of the linac theory and technology, linacs are used in more and more yields. It can be used in particle physics, medical treatment, light source, power source, and environment protection and so on. This accelerator is used as an electron source for irradiation processing. The main parameters are: 10MeV, S-band TW accelerating structure, operating frequency: 2856MHz, average beam current: 2.0mA, average beam power: 20kW, pulse width: 14 μ s, pulse repetition frequency range :50Hz~650Hz.The accelerator is divided into several subsystems according to their function, such as modulator system, klystron system, vacuum system, water-cooling system, constant temperature system, accelerating structure, interlock system etc, and combined by the control system. The control system of the lOMeV linac for Irradiation processing is a Distributed Control System (DCS). The hardware of the control system is made of four Siemens PLCs and computers, the software is written by STEP 7, Labwindows/CVI and SQL Server. The bus between the monitor computer and the main PLC is 100M industrial networks, the bus between PLCS is MPI bus, the bus between PLC and remote partner is Profibus, and the bus between PLC and terminals is RS485/422. The software of control system can provide a friendly human machine interface to run the machine, protect the human and equipment from risk, and storage the status of the accelerator real time to the database. The software can run under windows 2000 server and windows XP professional. We can monitor and maintenance the linac not only in local computer or local network, but also in internet.
