Based on the principle of cross correlation, a improved method for the velocity measurement of two-phase flow .A differential auto-correlation measurement system is presented in this paper. The device of velocity measurement is composed of some important components, including capacitance sensor ,measuring circuit, data gathering and processing ,operation software. The theory to be based on "Spatial Filtering Effect "of capacitance sensor and the some parameters to effect measurement precision are analyzed in detail. The model which is used to compute the initial value of the capacitance sensor is derived. A system to measure the velocity of gas-liquid flow is built and lots of experiments have been done. The results have proved that the method of the differential auto-correlation is correct. The measurement system is advanced with simpler structure, better anti-disturbance and good stability. On the other hand, based on electrical capacitance tomography , a new technique used to measure phase density is proposed.
