Xi'an Elderly Living Environment Space Needs Study

Presently,our country has been an aged society,which bring about many society problems to which people pay close attention,as more than 10 percent of the general population has became aged,But the aging of population in our country are different from that of the other countries and we should take the reality into account when we construct the inhabitation environment for the aged.The aging of population in XI'AN has it's distinctive features.The existing facilities,such as the home for the aged and the apartment for the aged,can not provide enough residence.And we have not paid any attention to their requirment while building our urban housing largely.Furthermore,the present facilities,the system of social service and welfare are not perfect.There are not enough space form of dwelling for the aged in newly building.On the base of inhabitation environment,we would prefer dwelling to building.For that,social requirements,technical measures,economic base and the guarantee of policy and code are disussed.Essentialy,providing conformable space form of dwelling for the aged is oneof the social behavior,Different society has different ways of providing for the aged.During the course of writing.a lot of researches on dormitories of teachers of XI'ANUniversity of Architecture & Technology and real estate companies have been done.So that the social requirments of inhabitation environment for the aged are offered and the relationship between the requirments and possibilities,which are the start points of the whole problem.In addition,technical measures are discussed.The house for the aged is firmly believed as the better ways and the apartment for the aged,the combination of house for the aged are the beneficial complementarity.At the same time,the principles of the house for the aged and the adaptable changes of urban residential district planning are put forward constructively.The economic strength and base of the aged are the conditional factors and the fundamentality.Because the present economic strength of the aged is poor,the economicpolicy should adapt to the situation of our country macroscopically and microcosmically so as to evaluate and restrict the building of the inhabitation environment for the aged economically.Efforts from all circles are needed and the policy of governments is the coordinator and guider,will decide the direction of inhabitation environment for the aged!in bo pe for ds all bo~ ed ~ be rois -- nd the -- bo at as theM nd pe ed W1ty in forto un bo ot fortheaged sustainably.
