Boric Acid Catalyzed Condensation Reaction Of Aromatic Aldehydes And Imidazole Compounds Of Biological Activity

As the important developmental direction of chemistry, the green chemistry has several prime principles such as eliminate environmental pollution, improve the reaction efficiency and atom economy, as well as reduce energy consumption. Boric acid is a typical environmental friendly catalyst. It has the character of nonflammable, easily to handle and nontoxic. Many types of chemical reaction, such as transesterification, Friedel-Craft reactions and Michael reactions, have been reported catalyzed by boric acid. This dissertation studies a new method by using boric acid as catalyst to catalyze three reactions which use aromatic aldehydes as major raw material. The main results are summarized as fllows:1. Synthesis of multi-substituted imidazolesThree series of imidazole derivatives were synthesized. And the effects of reaction solvent, temperature and substituents were studied to determine the optimum reaction conditions. Finally,24 imidazole derivatives were obtained,7of which have not been reported. This article also examines the antifungal activity of all the compounds. The results show that imidazole derivatives have better inhibitory effects to gibberlla nicotiancola and alternaria lycopersici.2. Synthesis of a-amino nitrileTwo series of a-amino nitriles were synthesized. And the effects of solvent, reaction temperature and catalyst dosage were studied to determine the optimum reaction conditions. 14 compounds were synthesized,2 of which were reported for the first time.3. Synthesis ofβ-amino ketonesA series ofβ-amino ketones were synthesized. Through optimize the reaction conditions,5 compounds were synthesized, all of which have not been reported.
