Vitamin E is very important to maintain normal life activities of the body. It is stable with acid and heat. But it will be damaged if exposed to oxygen, ultraviolet light, alkali, iron salt and lead salt. Therefore, the application of vitamin E is restricted. When vitamin E is made as microcapsules, it not only maintains the inherent characteristics of vitamin E, but also enhances its stability, oxidation resistance. On account of making vitamin E oil into powder, it is more conductive to store and transport vitamin E, and therefore expand the scope of its application. The study selects complex coacervation and spray drying method to research microencapsulation of vitamin E. According to the comparation of preparation process, the best capsule material combination of the two methods are gelatin and sodium alginate. And make a systematic study on the impact factors on microcapsules of vitamin E such as the concentration of wall material, the quality of core material, high-speed shear transfer, the curing agent, the conditions of the spray drying equipment. The study also optimize process parameters of the microencapsulated products, the experimental conditions are comfimed as follows:When complex coacervation method is used to prepare vitamin E microcapsules, the optimal conditions obtained for the vitamin E microcapsules is: the concentration of gelatin 5%100 ml, the concentration of sodium alginate solution 1.3%100 ml, vitamin E oil quality 14 g, high-speed shear speed 10000 rpm, the speed of electric mixer 800 rpm, selecte CaCl2 as curing agents .With the optimal condition, obtained microcapsules containing vitamin E can be achieved 70.20%.When spray dry method is used to prepare vitamin E microcapsules, the optimal conditions obtained for the vitamin E microcapsules is: the concentration of gelatin 6%100 ml, the concentration of sodium alginate solution 0.5%100 ml, vitamin E oil quality 20 g, high-speed shear speed 16000 rpm, take magnesium aluminum silicate as the lubricant, material temperature maintained at 50℃, inlet temperature 175℃, the feed rate of 6 ml·min-1 spray-drying conditions, and finally a microencapsulated product can be obtained. With the optimal condition, obtained microcapsules containing vitamin E can be achieved 72.70%.After Detecting the obtained microcapsules by UV and figuring the content of vitamin E oil by standard curve, the content of vitamin E in the obtained microcapsules can be calculated, its drug loading exceeds 50%, therefore, vitamin E can be embeded effectively. Observing the microcapsules encapsulated circumstantiality by microscope, it is in good condition. Measured particle size by laser scanning, complex coacervation microcapsule average particle size is 225μm and spray-drying microcapsule average particle size is 230μm, in line with the requirements of microcapsule particle size and the distribution of particle size is uniform. Complex coacervation method should be used when preparing small batches microcapsule. Spray-dried method should be used when preparing microcapsules in industrial production. The index of the dissolution and stability of the obtained microcapsules of vitamin E product are qualified.
