Plastics and paper is used widely in usual life. While waste plastics formed in process of manufacture and consumption are a serious pollution source. And the reusing efficiency of wastepaper is low, the reproduction of waste paper causes serious secondary pollution. Overtop energy consumption and serious secondary pollution is the distinct defects existing in the current comprehensive reutilization methods of the two wastes. Aiming at those defects, new reutilization method is researched in the paper, which is more effective, more environmental, and high additional valued. In the essay, preparation of wastepaper reinforced waste HDPE composite, and effective modification methods to improve mechanical properties of composite are also explored.A series of waste composites were produced through melt blending using waste plastics and wastepaper which is pretreated by dispersing, cleaning and screening. Microscope test means such as FTIR, DSC and SEM are applied in the essay. Further, mechanical performance of the waste composite is generally higher than those of matrix materials; and the former can be used in material field of decoration, cement template and public utilities, etc.Effect of preparation procedures and wastepaper content on properties of wastepaper/waste HDPE composite was investigated. The results show that in wastepaper reinforced system, the optimal blend temperature, molding pressure, blending time and wastepaper mass content are 150℃, 15MPa, 15min and 15wt%, respectively. where the flexural and tensile strength of wastepaper /waste HDPE composite increase by 34.70% and 77.22%, compared to those of waste HDPE matrix. In the work, silane coupling agent KH550 and maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene (MAPE) was used to improve the interface compatibility of wastepaper/waste HDPE composite. The results show that both KH550 and MAPE can enhance mechanical performance of the composites to some extent. When the content of KH550 was 1 wt%, the flexural strength and tensile strength of composite are increased by increase by 23.06%and 13.47%, compared to those of composite without any modification, respectively; And When the content of MAPE was 4-6 wt%, the flexural strength and tensile strength of composite are increased by increase by 10.93%and 8.99%, compared to those of composite without adding MAPE, respectively.
