In pipeline system, waterhammer is one sort of unsteady flow problem caused by some reason, which is of great importance. And waterhammer brings about some badly hydraulic transient phenomena that can lead to damage of system's structure or performance. To ensure pipeline's safe and optimum running, in every tache from designation to management, we must master the rules of unsteady-state flow of pipe's operation comprehensively and in-depth. Computer emulation right achieves this purpose. Hereby, to begin with, in this paper we develop the pipe network's mathematic models of the steady-state flow or waterhammer when oil flows via devices which include heated pipes, pumps, regulators, relievers, resistances, and so on. Besides, according to the models, we analyze thepipe's steady-state flow by the node-analysis method, and transient flow by thecharacteristics method. We solve the set of nonlinear equations of simulation of steady-state or transient flow through the Newton-Raphson method. Finally, byusing author's program to simulate the steady-state and transient flow in Hua-Geoil pipeline of Qinhai oil field, the methods and programme of this paper are proved right.
