Heavy-medium Cyclone is one kind of heavy-medium separation equipments which has greatly developed in recent year, and the swirling flow flied is a three-dimensional approximatively axisymmetric multi-phase flow flied, particles separation completes through the relative motion between discrete phase and continuous phase. However, the research focused on the swirling flow flied, especially the study of particle trajectory in the swirling flow field is also facing a series of problems.Because the research of heavy-medium cyclone tends to be experimental and analytical studies, but material distribution in the cyclone influenced by feed hole pressure,slurry feed amount, feed hole diameter, shape and so on, in the cyclone abrasion form is complex, and lack of directly monitoring the motion characteristics of particles in swirling flow field, so complex swirl flow situation prevent us from accurately analyzing the motion field distribution through the empirical formula and the numerical solution under the condition.Therefore,this article research the motion characteristics of particles in heavy-medium cyclone from the two aspects which are particle tracking and CFD numerical simulation.Aimed at the CFD numerical simulation, flow field of turbulent model and threephase flow calculation model were established.Researched different size, different density particles motion trajectory characteristics, can visually saw particles moving trends, monitored the mismatch resulting. Aimed at the particle tracing, designed a ball which can achieve the performance standards of tracer particles in the swirling flow field, and ensure that it can maintain stable motion characteristics in the cyclone; after that, developed an intelligent tracer ball based on MEMS micro inertial positioning system and storage receiving system, used to collect three axis acceleration data in the moving process in real time.Finally founded a the trajectory model based on acceleration integration and data pre-processing method based on frequency domain filtering,eliminated noise interference and the trend, which made the sampling data is more close to the reality,and then through double integral of the acceleration data, calculated and drawed the trace curve.
