Lvliang City is located in the Loess Plateau, midwest in Shanxi Province,loess hilly region and rocky mountain area accounted for92%of the city, thevegetation coverage rate is not high, soil dust contributed largely to atmosphericparticles, combined with the increasingly influence of human activities to urbansoil which led to the enrichment of heavy metals and other pollutants in soildust, cause potential threats on ecosystem and human health. Soil dust sampleswere collected to investigate characteristics of source profiles of soil dust inLvliang, Shanxi Province. PM10and PM2.5source profiles of soil dust wereestablished, and their characteristics were investigated, environmental risk andhealth risk of ten kinds of heavy metals in the soil dust were discussed. Themain conclusions obtained are as follows:(1) The source profiles of soil PM10and PM2.5including elements, ions andcarbon, the main components in soil dust were Ca2+, Mg, Na, K, OC, Fe, Ca, Al,and Si, soil dust came mainly from the crustal. (2) According to the results of the enrichment factor,10kinds of heavymetals had a certain degree of enrichment, in soil dust PM10, As, Cr, Mn, V, Niwere enriched slightly, Cd was moderate enriched, Co, Zn, Cu, Pb wereenriched significantly; in soil dust PM2.5, Cr, Mn, As were slight enriched, Ni, V,Cd were moderate enriched, Co, Zn, Cu, Pb were enriched significantly.(3) Geological accumulation index showed that in soil dust PM10, As, Cr,Mn were clean, V, Ni, Cd were polluted lightly, Co, Zn, Cu, Pb were moderatepolluted; in soil dust PM2.5, Cr was clean, Mn, As, Ni, V were polluted lightly,Cd was partial moderate polluted, Co, Zn, Cu, Pb were moderate polluted.(4) Nemerow index of soil dust PM10was0.6905, nemerow index of soildust PM2.5was0.8642, showed that soil dust PM10was clean and PM2.5was inan alert level. According to the results of potential ecological risk index, thepotential ecological risk of soil dust PM10and PM2.5were moderate.(5) The total non-carcinogenic risk of soil dust PM10and PM2.5did notexceed the safety threshold, had slight effect on human health. Cr had thebiggest carcinogenic risk, the carcinogenic risk of five heavy metals were lowerthan carcinogenic risk threshold10-6, indicated that carcinogenic risk of Cr, Co,Ni,As, Cd were low, will not cause harm to human health.
