Research On Application Of Hezhe Fishskin Dress Adornment Element In Modern Clothing Design

As a minority in the north of China, Hezhe nationality has thousands of years’ historical culture. The hunting culture, as a unique cultural form to both the society and the economy, runs through the whole life of Hezhe people, especially to the aspect of production. Considering the influence caused by its unique social economy and production mode, the culture and life of Hezhe people are totally different from other nationalities, such as farming and nomadic people. Living by fishing and hunting, Hezhe culture has obvious differences to other ethnic groups. While the most significant symbol of costume to this nationality reflects on its fish-skin dress.In this paper, the main parts focus on the following points:the history and culture of the fish-skin costume; the evolution of the fish-skin costume; the elements and formation of the fish-skin costume. What’s more, the author compares the design and the concept with foreign fish-skin costumes; simulates the experiment based on national clothing culture; has a deep interpretation of fish-skin costume and its development characteristics from a historical perspective. Finally, this paper confirms the combination of the elements from Hezhe fish-skin costume with modern clothing design is due to Hezhe fish-skin costume own characteristics.In the process of the research, the author focus on the investigation of Hezhe fish-skin costume, combines with the relevant Chinese and foreign literature and uses the comparative method to excavate the blind spots of Hezhe fish-skin costume and gives more supplement to the previous studies. Besides, the paper has a new interpretation to the elements of Hezhe fish-skin costume from the perspective of modern technology and aesthetic.There are three innovative conclusions based on the search:First, as the typical elements of Hezhe fish-skin costume, the "scale nest" surface and "layered" horizontal weave structure have lots of similarities to modern digital design effects. The "scale nest" surface and "layered" horizontal weave structure attach more decorative beauty to fish leather, which not only meets the modern aesthetic perspective but also satisfies the pursuit of future digital clothing design.Second, with the comparison with foreign, the author gets the foreign fish-skin clothing focus on science and technology more but lacks of traditional nationality. However, Hezhe fish-skin costume possesses tradition and nationality, especially its nationality, which is a huge advantage to foreign fish-skin clothing. In addition, the elements of Hezhe fish-skin costume combines the tradition and modernity in actual design application.Third, fish leathers joint stitch one another, as one main craft of Hezhe fish-skin costume, makes its processing gain the structuralist concept of modern garment design.
