Maleic anhydride is a kind of important chemical raw materials, which is mainly synthesized by catalytic oxidation or n-butane air oxidation, succinic anhydride 、γ-butyrolactone 、 tetrahydrofurane and 1,4-butanediol as downstream products from hydrogenation of maleic anhydride have a wide used for polymer and pharmaceutical industries. Selective hydrogenation of maleic anhydride over different Ni-supported catalyst activity and selectivity were systematically studied in this thesis.Based on the different nature of the surface oxide(CeO2 、 HZSM-5) as supporter,Ni(NO32·6H2O as active component. Ni/CeO2 and Ni/HZSM-5 catalysts were prepared by the incipient wetness impregnation method, in the thesis, compared the two kinds of hydrogenation activity and selectivity of the catalyst. The physical characterisitic of the catalyst were studied with characterized by BET 、TEM、NH3-TPD. The 100 ml high pressure reaction kettle was used for the activity evaluation of catalysts studies, 1,4-dioxane as a solvent, the effect of different temperature(between 100 and 180 °C), pressure(between 2 and 5 MPa) and time on the catalytic reaction investigated. All the catalysts were very high active in the hydrogenation of maleic anhydride, but Ni/HZSM-5 showed a higher selectivity to γ-butyrolactone than Ni/CeO2. In addition,Ni/HZSM-5 catalyst as example, the stability of the catalyst was studied.
