Resin mineral composit(RMC) is composed of organic resin and natural mineral partile as binder and aggregate, and resonable adding the strengthening and toughening component to obtain a new engineering material. It has the characteristics of vibration damping, short manufacturing cycle and low production cost. In addition, it meets requirements of the manufacturing machine tools with high-precision, high efficiency and low cost, which usually used for preperation of precision machine tool bed, base component and other basic components.Based on the comprehensive mechanical properties and damping properties of the resin mineral composite materials is studied in detail, which the influence law of various factors is summarized and then the optimal ratio range, the main research content and conclusion is determined.According to the component characteristics and reaction mechanism of resin mineral composite material. the preparation of the samples with a short experimental period to complete base on the optimum resin system, aggregate, and auxiliary component material and optimizing the preparation process. On the basis, through experiment and theoretical analysis, combined with the characterization of macroscopic mechanical properties to obtain the best dosage of resin system.According to the fractal theory to more accurately design aggregate gradation, we can reseach the structure and properties of resin mineral composite under different factal deminsion. When the fractal dimension is from 2.1 to 2.4, RMC’s mechanical properties significantly changed. When the fractal dimension is 2.4, the mechanical properties of resin mineral composite is optimal, the cube compressive strength is 162.9 MPa, the axial compressive strength is 126.7 MPa, bending strength is 34.9 MPa, modulus of elasticity is 43.7 GPa, poisson’s ratio is 0.213 and microscopic structure and macroscopic performance characteristics is consistent.On the basis of adding different length of steel fiber, and it is concluded that when the steel fiber length is 8 mm, the mechanical performance is optimal. When adding steel fiber, carbon fiber and glass fiber, it can be concluded that glass fiber enhanced toughening effect is most obvious, followed by carbon fiber and steel fiber. And with the aid of SEM to investigate the microstructure and fracture morphology, it found that the results of the analysis and macro performance analysis results are identical with each other.Systematic analysis of the influence law of the resin system, aggregate gradation and fiber volume fraction on the damping properties of the resin mineral compound material based on single factor experiments.Compared to other factors, the results show that resin system play a major role in the damping performance of the resin compound mineral materials, and damping ratio is 6-8 times of cast iron material. Reasonable aggregate gradation and content of fiber can further improve damping ratio of the material, but need to avoid the fiber aggregation.
