With the development of society, economy and irrationalexploiting of water resources, saltwater intrusion arose in thelower reaches of the Weihe River. Saltwater intrusion hasdrastically devastated the regional economy, society andecology, restricted the regional sustainable development. Basedon deeply analyzing the mechanism of saltwater intrusion and thegroundwater regime regularity, This paper probe into thescientific monitoring method of saltwater intrusion regime andthe layout of monitoring network, and tentatively designed amonitoring system of saltwater intrusion regime. The papercontains three main parts as follows:1.Analysis on the change process of saltwater intruded areaand the groundwater regime regularity. Saltwater intrusion inthis area is induced to the rapidly increasing demand of waterresources and the continuous 14膟ear drought. By research ongroundwater stage regime and the groundwater hydrochemicalcharacteristics in saltwater intruded regions, we may reveal andmonitor the development trend of saltwater intruded area. Thiscan provide theoretical guide to saltwater intrusionmonitoring.2.Study on the layout of monitoring network of saltwaterintrusion. According to this, three kinds of monitoring networkare constructed: (1) the monitoring network of the waterresources supplies and demands; (2) the monitoring network ofgroundwater table and quality regime; (3) the monitoring networkof geophysical methods.3.Preliminary design on monitoring system of saltwaterintrusion.In order to make a systematic management and analysis on alarge majority of data of saltwater intrusion, and to make themapply to solving the problem of saltwater intrusion, the paperattempt to construct a saltwater intrusion monitoring systemcentered with database. The system is programmed by applying theobject膐riented method. The whole system includes a main menu,lots of forms, classes and tables, etc.The user may bring intoplay the various function of the monitoring system through themain menu.
