| Located in the Shi-yang river basin, Minqin County is one of the original centers of the sand storm in China. With the increase of population and the development of economy, the conflicts between water supply and demand have increasingly been obvious since the 1970s. Drought and water shortage is seriously restricting the agricultural sustainable development in Minqin County. Under the condition of limited water resources, the key for solving the contradiction is to optimize the agricultural structure. The objective of this study is how to reduce the bearing pressure of water resources, how to better solve the contradictions among improving agriculture benefit, increasing farmers income and ecological security and how to develop the economy, society, resources and ecological environment sustainably in Minqin County.In this thesis, using the Quality analysis method, the Quantity analysis method, the Positive analysis method and the normative analysis method, the author has provided the comprehensive analysis of the population, economy, water resources, and the total development and the change of the internal structure of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry in Minqin County. Having taken the major variables into account, the author established the multi-objective optimization model for agricultural structure and calculated and analyzed the related data by using method of linear programming analysis. The conclusion is drawn that from the point of view of sustainable development, the ideal pattern of agricultural structure optimization in Minqin County, located on the ecological fragile area in desert fringe, is the eco-agriculture development pattern of water-saving, high-efficiency agriculture together with forestry adding grassland animal husbandry. There are many benefits in setting up and perfecting this eco-agriculture development pattern, such as rational utilization of water resources and recovery of vegetation in Shi-yang river basin; boosting the economic development, increasing farmers' income, protecting regional ecology, and in the long run, realizing the sustainable development of economy and society of Minqin County.In this thesis, the author also put forward some essential principles and aims of agricultural structure optimization in Minqin County. And some measures of optimizing agricultural structure are suggested, which includes: constructing water-saving, high-efficiency system of agriculture and forestry; speeding up the development of modern grassland animal husbandry; encouraging the development of courtyard ecological economy;establishing an reasonable system and guarantee arrangement. |
