Research On The Impact Of Fair Value Accounting

On Feb.15^th,the treasury department issued new accounting principle. New Accounting Standard for Business Enterprises included some great changes in many aspects,that re-introduction of fair value is the biggest key point.The using of fair value accounting theory made a relatively intense discussion in the theoretical and the practice fields. So far,the studies about fair value in China focused on theoretical research,while the fair value of the empirical research is still relatively few.In the beginning,the paper introduces the research at home and abroad,including the related theories and papers.Then,by combination of China's actual conditions,the impact on changes in fair value accounting information of listed companies is empirically examined.Under the background of sub-loan crisis in USA and China's soaring stock market crash,the research selects the annual and interim report data of commercial banks listed at Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2007 to 2008,to find out the relationship between fair value and the net assets,return on equity,as well as the impact of stock market.The results indicate that fair value method has no significant impact on net profit,net assets,return on equity and the stock market price, and changes in fair value of stock prices does not exist for a significant risk related to stock market.There are many reasons.Small sample lead to less effective proof of the full change in fair value of stock market linkages:China's stock market is a relatively young market,and a lot of rules and regulations are not perfect.But because of the institutional issues,China's stock market to a large extent a "policy market",which will also affect the results of the study.
