Power survey and design unit is an urgent need to reform.In recent years, Northeast Electric Power Design Institute(NEPDI),with a brilliant 58-year-old design institute, is in a critical period of transition strategies with changes in the external environment. NEPDI as the first survey and design unit of electricity after the birth of New China set up, faced with domestic and international market competition and the development of the dual pressures of survival. For self-development of NEPDI, there is an urgent need to examine their development strategies to meet the existing national and international macro-policy environment for development.Through the study of the Northeast's own characteristics, the external environment and internal analysis of the environmental analysis, respectively, on the macro-environment and industry environment on the NEPDI, as well as NEPDI essential conditions for development, the industry standard and SWOT analysis, pointed out that the NEPDI court positioning and strategy for the development of the strategic objectives.
