Due to the coming of knowledge economic and the globalization shocking, R&D is appearing more and more in news and academic researches. R&D is the main way for corporate to get core competence and technologic ability. In many corporate, tasks of R&D have been done by R&D teams. No doubt, the teams are the important element of corporate R&D work. Because R&D team members are knowledge workers and they have high personalities and innovation has more uncertainties in R&D work. So the management of R&D is facing more and more strong challenges. As the management philosophy that valuing people, organizational culture be viewed as the most efficient way to manage R&D team.This paper has reviewed organizational culture theories and talked team performance. And this paper has described R&D team under organizational culture'view. In this paper five organizational culture elements are talked detail. And there is a framework of organizational culture. Based this framework, this paper has talked the important utilities of organizational culture in R&D team performance management. Value is the vital thing of a R&D team. R&D team members are knowledge workers, they have high personalities, they always hold on their views. So the disagreements between R&D team members always bring project failure. Value can eliminate disagreement to sure the program going on. R&D team members adore heroes. They have strong eager to be respected as the heroes of their team. So heroes can encourage R&D team members to do their best in team works. Ceremony shows the mature and personality of the team. And it tells everyone the achievements. Culture net help R&D team members communicate to each other to keep a good organizational climate. Organizational environment should supply convenient to the team, so that it can work more efficiently. In one word, organizational culture can help R&D team building and help the team to display its innovation abilities.
