The main fact of electronics manufacturing industry is the shorter produce period, the smaller produce batch, the more new technology. As one major product of electronic industry, notebook is sometimes subjected to the pressure. At the same time product quality and cost are also what customers care for. For manufacturers, the quality of products is enhanced, the cost is decreased and the enterprise is equipped with highly competitiveness. Manufacture technology of notebook is very mature, but some new technique and technology must be introduced for reducing production costs and increasing reliability. These have been done to reach the requirements of client and market.In this paper, the current situation and trend of PIP and UV process are introduced first, then according the requirement of SMT production; the characteristics of notebook technology are analyzed.The feasibility and necessity to introducing PIP and UV process are emphatically discussed. Founding the optimized parameters of using DOE methods, results decreased the cost and improved the efficiency, reduced repair rate and the rate of part dissipation. At the same time, the notebook reliability is increased.With the popularization of nokebook and increasing market demand, consumers demand higher notebook dependability. In this paper general process model of engineering economic is used to evaluate economic benefits after adopting UV technology. Considering the cost and benefit, cost analysis model is used to analyze UV technology feasibility.Experimental results have verified the feasibility that PIP and UV process are applied to notebook manufacture, at the same time related parameters are up to the standard,not only productive efficiency improved and the production cost is reduced, but also products reliability is improved. Our work provides a reference to PIP and UV process introducing to the other electronic product.
