Installation project of nuclear islands in nuclear power stations is the core business of China Nuclear Industry 23rd Construction Corporation (hereinafter short as China Nuclear 23rd Co.). With the national nuclear power policy of"actively developing", it is anticipated that two, even six simultaneously in top period, nuclear power stations will be constructed annually in fifteen years; this must bring on heated competition in the nuclear island installation project market, and the long-term complete monopolization status on nuclear island project construction of China Nuclear 23rd Co. will be broken soon. Quality competition is the principal in nuclear island installation projects, meanwhile, it should also be suitable for the new nuclear power developing features of self-independence, reducing constructive cost and shortening constructive cycle.This thesis, on the basis of analyzing the historic development of quality management theory and its practice and quality management experience of China Nuclear 23rd Co., combining modern quality management models, tool methodologies and developing program of China Nuclear 23rd Co., from the point of view of holding quality lead and the new nuclear power developing features; analyses the necessaries for the quality management improvement of nuclear power project of China Nuclear 23rd Co., finding out the existing problems of its quality management, pointing out that China Nuclear 23rd Co. should plan project quality management at the view of quality strategy and new situations of nuclear power development, promoting the quality objective management system, establishing quality risk analysis system, regulating and improving the quality control processes, auditing and controlling quality-related cost, enhancing the application of quality tools and introduce QC group, in order to meet the market needs and achieve the aim of excellent nuclear power project management. Also, this thesis has the meaning for reference use with respects of construction and installation corporations entering the nuclear installation engineering markets of nuclear power station or others.
