Study On Land Ecological Suitability Evaluation Of Industrial Parks Based On GIS

In the recent years, the development of eco-city and eco-planning theories has guided the way of ecological restoration. Land ecological suitability evaluation focuses on the natural and ecological factors of land use. It is a guide for land use planning. Land use of industrial parks has shifted from extensive development to intensive use. In the process of planning, more and more attention has been paid on environmental effects to achieve sustainable development. In China, industrial parks have developed for more than twenty years. It is an important stage for us to optimize and upgrade the structure of land use and industry in industrial parks. It is a trend to build eco-industrial parks or promote ecological restoration. Land ecological suitability study provides a rule for land use planning, and helps to fulfill scientific land use planning and management. Nowadays, much attention has been paid on agricultural and urban land suitability evaluation. With the development of evaluation technologies, more and more quantitative researches on land ecological suitability evaluation have been conducted. However, less research has been done in industrial parks. The development of Geographic Information System(GIS) and improvement of database, have provided a flat for land ecological suitability analysis, improved the accuracy of evaluation, and made an assurance of on-time management and evaluation.The focus of this dissertation is to build the evaluation system according to the characteristics of land use in industrial parks. Methodologies such as theories study, case study, and the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis are used in this dissertation. First of all, the concept of land ecological suitability study is put forward by literature review. Secondly, the steps for evaluation are built, combining qualitative and quantitative research together. GIS and Fuzzy method are used in this dissertation. Ecological factor is an important one of the indicators. The factor is treated specially for evaluation according to the rule of Ecology First. The dissertation combines the ecological sensitive study and suitability study together to make a direct show of evaluation result based on GIS. Thirdly, apply the evaluation method to evaluate land ecological suitability in the focus industrial park, and comment on the evaluation result. The result of this research can provide a guide for land use planning in industrial parks, and help to make arrangement of land exploitation and protect the environment.
